NCTRC offers 2 paths for Certification to become a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS):

  • Academic Path
  • Equivalency Path

  • CTRS Renewal yearly with annual fee
  • CTRS Recertification every 5 years 

  • Be sure to keep up on your CEUS 50 hours are needed every 5 years plus 480 hours of of professional work experience for recertification
